Graduated in ESMUC (Musical Superior School of Catalonia), in Barcelona, Canyelles is a musician specialized in the tenora, a traditional Catalan double reed instrument in the shawn family, stemming from the ancient xeremia, a medieval instrument largely used until the Baroque period. Canyelles has performed under the directorship of Carles Santos himself, in extensive recitals of his diverse body of work. He also regularly performs traditional Catalan music and other modern musical styles with the aim of normalizing his traditional instruments.
