Dirty Electronics & T M Shaw - Objects at Hand

No Longer Available

Dirty Electronics & T M Shaw present Objects at Hand, a performance-installation which explores the making and unmaking of objects, building hybrid mechanisms for making noise, unfolding a messy and eclectic multi sensory experience. Bells, airhorns, sound synths, water, self made stringed instruments, light bulbs, loudspeakers, bass shakers, spark gaps, fireworks and other miscellaneous devices salvaged from scrap heaps, streets, artist studios and houses will populate the venue as the artists fill the performance space with a sprawl of sound, light and dry ice. In May 2021 Dirty Electronics & T M Shaw released Objects at Hand on tape label Opal Tapes.

John Richards

John Richards explores the idea of Dirty Electronics that focuses on shared experiences, ritual, gesture, touch and social interaction. He is primarily concerned with the performance of large-group electronic music and DIY electronics, and the idea of creating music inside electronics. His work also pushes the boundaries between performance art, electronics, and graphic design and is transdisciplinary as well as having a socio-political dimension. Dirty Electronics has been commissioned to create sound devices for various arts organisations and festivals and has released a series of hand-held synths on Mute Records.
