Devin Brahja Waldman is a New York saxophonist, drummer, synthesizer player and composer. He has performed with Patti Smith, Thurston Moore, Lydia Lunch, Daniel Carter and Sam Shalabi. He has accompanied his aunt, the poet Anne Waldman, since the age of ten. He leads a NYC/Montreal-based band, B R A H J A, performs in Heroes Are Gang Leaders (started by poet Thomas Sayers Ellis and saxophonist James Brandon Lewis) and is a member of Artists For A Free World Marching Band, led by Patricia and William Parker. Along with Anne Waldman and his cousin Ambrose Bye, Waldman co-directs Fast Speaking Music—a music and poetry label which has released the works of Amiri Baraka, Meredith Monk, CA Conrad, Clark Coolidge, Eileen Myles and many others.

CA CONRAD’S childhood included selling cut flowers along the highway for his mother and helping her shoplift. The author of 9 books of poetry and essays, the latest is titled While Standing In Line For Death and is forthcoming from Wave Books (September 2017). He is a Pew Fellow and has also received fellowships from Lannan Foundation, MacDowell Colony, Headlands Center for the Arts, Banff, RADAR, Flying Ojbect and Ucross.
