Three masters at work in the form of saxophonist Paul Dunmall, Paul Rogers on double bass and Mark Sanders on drums, performing as Deep Whole Trio, with support from the duo of drummer Mark Holub and saxophonist Colin Webster.

For 30 years Paul has carved out a reputation for himself and is now widely recognized as one of the most uncompromising and talented reed players on the International jazz/improvised music scene. Whether playing in Small or large groups, his musical sensitivity and imagination, combined with a powerful sound, make him one of the most distinctive improvisers playing today. He has performed with Alice Coltrane, Johnny Guitar Watson, Danny Thompson, LJCO, Mujician, Henry Grimes/Andrew Cyrille and a duo with Chris Corsano.
Paul Rogers is a virtuoso musician playing an AAL 7 string bass of his own design. He has played with countless major musicians on the European and US Jazz and Improvised Music scenes for over 40 years. He was a member of the influential group Mujician with Keith Tippett, Paul Dunmall and Tony Levin and performed and recorded with trombonist Paul Rutherford.
As well as leading his own groups in the UK and France - including the highly regarded trio Wahay based on the music of Charles Mingus- Paul performs regularly in Europe as a soloist.
Mark has worked with a host of renowned musicians including Derek Bailey, Henry Grimes, Mathew Shipp, Evan Parker, Roswell Rudd, in duo and quartets with Wadada Leo Smith and trios with Charles Gayle with Sirone and William Parker.
In situations using composition Mark works in a number of projects including Christian Marclay’s Everyday for film and live music and John Butcher’s Tarab Cuts - both projects have performed major festivals throughout Europe and Brazil. He has performed works by guitarist John Coxon in Glasgow and Sydney playing with the Scottish and Sydney Symphony Orchestras. With New York’s ICE Ensemble he has performed John Zorn’s The Tempest in London and at Huddersfield New Music Festival.
Mark also works in the groups of Paul Dunmall including Deep Whole Trio with Paul Rogers, and the ensembles of Sarah Gail Brand, including a long-standing duo. He has a lengthy discography including a solo album, has performed internationally and played at major festivals including, Nickelsdorf, Ulrichsburg, Womad and notably at Glastonbury with legendary saxophonist John Tchicai.

London based saxophonist Colin Webster is quickly establishing himself on the European avant-garde scene. Collaborating with some of the key figures in improvised and experimental music, Webster is known for working from extreme sonic palettes – from minimal to maximal, constantly pushing boundaries.

Drummer, composer and bandleader originally from the US and now based in Vienna, Mark Holub is most notably known as the bandleader and composer for Led Bib. Holub is also active in other projects including ‘Blueblut’ an improvising trio with Pamelia Kurstin - theremin and Chris Janka - guitar, ‘Lobster’ a new quartet which Mark is composing for featuring Irene Kepl - violin, Werner Zangerle - sax and Bernd Satzinger - bass, ‘Mustard Pie’ a recent collaboration with his Led Bib compatriot Liran Donin with the Polar Bear rhythm section (Tom Herbert, Seb Rochford) and UK sax legend Jan Kopinski (Pinski Zoo), and he also features regularly on the improv scene with various collections of players including work with Sheik Anorak, Colin Webster, Irene Kepl and many others.
