An eclectic evening of performances at Cafe OTO, featuring a rare live appearance from Jacques Beloeil, the visiting piano and guitar duo of Danae Stefanou & Michalis Moschoutis, as well as a first encounter between the local talents of Michael Speers, Henry Rodrick & Kostis Kilymis. Expect studied explorations of classical instruments, minor electric maelstroms, and challenging approaches to contemporary sound.
Jacques Beloeil has released a few eclectic albums on the label Entr'acte, which he co-founded with Allon Kaye. After a few years of publishing he decided to employ his time with music mastering.
For this agreement in purpose he will be performing with UshiHupe, a right hander, resolutely multidisciplinary artist and activist of the muse.

Danae Stefanou has been active as a pianist & improviser since the 1990s, performing both solo and as one half of acte vide, an electroacoustic duo with Yannis Kotsonis. Stefanou & Kotsonis are also founders and co-curators of Syros Sound Meetings, an initiative for site-specific sound residencies and workshops in the island of Syros, Greece. Stefanou collaborates frequently with sound and visual artists; recent festival appearances include performances in projects by Jean-Luc Guionnet & Eric LaCasa (Borderline 2016), Tarek Atoui & Chris Watson (Aeschyleia 2015), and Vicki Bennett (InMute 2014). Her first solo inside piano album, [herewith] was released in 2014 on Michalis Moschoutis' Athens-based label, Holotype Editions.

Michalis Moschoutis is a musician, primarily guitarist and composer, based in Athens. His work focuses on the materiality of sound and the physicality of live music. His freely improvised performances find him strumming, bowing and wildly plucking the loosened strings of his nylon-string guitar. He also runs Holotype Editions record label and curates INMUTE festival, which opens up shared spaces between cinema, sound art and experimental music. “Crease”, Moschoutis’s duo release with inside-piano player Danae Stefanou, will be out on Coherent States at the beginning of 2017.

Michael Speers (b. 1992) is a musician from Northern Ireland.
Working with natural & synthetic sound material—using drums, computer, microphones, feedback—in composition, performance and installation.
Collaborating with Paul Abbott as yPLO—using real & imaginary drums. With Luciano Maggiore, making music contemplating the kernel of black metal.
Other collaborators include John Wall, Louise Le Du, Olan Monk, Niklas Adam, Lee Fraser and Seijiro Murayama.

Henry Rodrick is a Swedish computer programmer and DJ based in North London. He studied Computer Science at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and electroacoustic music at EMS (the centre for Swedish electroacoustic music and sound-art). Before relocating to London, he spent several years connecting the dots between electronic dance music and experimental sounds on the Stockholm club scene. He has previously released music on labels such as Studio Barnhus, and is currently developing software systems for unconventional DJing and sound art.
Kostis Kilymis is a Bristol-based artist. He performs electronic and noise music based on live synthesis, rhythm and found sound. His work focuses on immersive environments, feedback systems and the notion of representation. He has been an improviser, performer and collaborator – his encounters including Lucio Capece, Nikos Veliotis, Greg Pope, Leif Elggren, Sarah Hughes, Stephen Cornford and Phil Julian amongst others. He has published work on labels such as Rekem, I Dischi del Barone, Strange Rules and Coherent States.
