Rosso Polare are Cesare Lopopolo and Anna Vezzosi, experimental duo from Milan, Italy. One from the city, the other from the countryside; they combined ideas and constructed a peculiar musical language based on a mixture of field recording, call and response improvisation and audio manipulation. Having their backgrounds in visual arts and sharing mutual interest in musical expression, they’ve been exchanging their sounds, exuding and absorbing from each other.
Their music is focused on researching counter-narratives regarding the depiction of the animal world, applying anti-speciesism philosophy to sound, striving to normalize the levels between human-produced music and natural biophony by - for instance - becoming aware of our own indigenousness to nature.
They released in 2020 their debut “Lettere Animali” via the Moscow-based label and collective Klammklang, followed by “Cani Lenti”, available via Cafe Oto’s in house label Takuroku and reissued by ADN Records.
Support comes courtesy of a new collaboration between Teresa Cos (electric guitar) and Lia Mazzari (amplified cello), plus Left Hand Cuts off the Right & Tasos Stamou, who will perform an improvisation for zithers, synthesizers, objects and effects. The duo have collaborated in mutual listening and improvising for over seven years and in May 2022 the release of 'Borrowed Time' (Brachliegen Tapes) captured an ongoing exchange between the two. Expect, "...meditative electronic noise, floating sonorities, ancient music" (The Wire Magazine, July 2022).
Teresa Cos is an artist exploring the processes of memory and repetition underlying history, society and human psychology, similarly to those inherent to sound and image composition. Her interdisciplinary practice encompasses film, video and sound installation, visual scoring, experimental music composition and performance. Teresa has presented and performed her work in various international contexts including: Cafè Oto, 3rd Industrial Art Biennial, Argos Centre for Audiovisual Arts, WIELS Contemporary Art Centre, Casino Luxembourg, bb15, Q-O2, Fondazione Baruchello, Kanal-Centre Pompidou, The Mac - Metropolitan Arts Centre Belfast, Les Ateliers Claus, Centrale Fies, Mostyn Gallery and the 14th Venice International Architecture Biennial. She has released work on Takuroku and Umland Editions/Q-2 and self-releases her ever growing Archive of Loops. Teresa has taken part in several international residency programmes, including WIELS, Jan Van Eyck Academy, Visio-European Programme on Artists’ Moving Images and the Botín Foundation workshop with Tacita Dean.
As a sound artist and performer Lia Mazzari’s practice is often collaborative, engaging new audiences through encounters with art in non-conventional spaces, physical and virtual. She likes to explore the divisions of site and non-site, private and public through live performance, sound installation and urban intervention. Lia creates recorded and live events that embrace the broader sense of sound in space. This fluid relationship with her environment and towards sonic activism as well as developing an extended technique with cello and whips form the crux of her practice.

Left Hand Cuts off the Right (Robbie Judkins) is an outlet for exploratory methods and composition. During live performances Robbie plays with a zither, bent electronics, objects, field recordings, loops and effects. The sounds are of habitual drones, gear-grinding metallic buzzing, crackling rhythms and aural oddities. Compositions and improvisations reflect on work and labour and the creation of sound as therapy.
In April 2023 he released, Free Time/Dead Time (Brachliegen Tapes), an album of focused minimalism, experimental electronics and twitching musique concrete. Free Time/Dead Time is a series of meditative compositions that reflect on the precarious boundaries between labour, leisure, and the quality of lived experience under late-capitalism.

He has created works for the Barbican, ICA, Resonance FM, Turner Contemporary, Whitechapel Gallery, University of Central Lancashire, Supernormal Festival and more. He is also the creator of Animal Sounds (Resonance FM), Parallax View (Threads Radio) and ex-member of punk-noise band Bruxa Maria.

Tasos Stamou: is a Greek electroacoustic music composer and performing artist, a music technologist and a tutor, a studio and radio producer.
After migrating in U.K over a decade ago, his sound artstarted being inspired by the idea of nostalgia. His latest albums are combining electronic music with his South East Mediterranean heritage. He has performed in over 300 shows in Europe and in U.S.A in venues and festivals of innovative music (Bent Festival, Incumbate Festival, Supernormal Festival, Café OTO, Seanaps Festival, The Barbican, etc.). He has over 20 releases in independent music labels (Discrepant, Ikuisuus, Moving furniture, Coherent States, KukurukuRecordings, etc.). He has collaborated with several veterans of exploratory music, such as Steve Beresford, Anna Homler, Mike Cooper, Savina Yannatou, Adam Bohman, Tomomi Adachi.
Stamou is also leading workshops of improvised music, hardware hacking electronics for music production and workshops for younger audiences introducing contemporary music. In the last couple of years Stamou is also using radio as a medium,
as a podcast radio producer (Stegi Radio), guest producer or creator of radio art pieces.
